HELDERVALLEI

“Heldervallei is a registered Cinsaut Single Vineyard and forms part of the site specific range. From the South East facing aspect on Sinai Hill’s front slope in the Lower Helderberg vicinity of Southern Stellenbosch. These are older dry farmed (zero irrigation) bushvines rooted in decomposed granite silica and iron rich soils of Sinai Hill. When standing in this vineyard you have a clear view of the whole Helderberg Valley as it rolls out towards False Bay (Atlantic Ocean) to its South. Poor soils inducing low vigour and low yeilds in this Cinsaut, making smaller berries and the cooler Maritime climate lends a well balanced acidity through ripening. Delicate and flavourful grapes. Planted by father and son duo, Pieter Bredell and Anton, in 1988.”
