“Swanesang is a registered Syrah Single Vineyard and forms part of the site specific range. From the Lower Helderberg vicinity in Southern Stellenbosch. This wine is from the last standing bushvines of Syrah in the Helderberg district and also the closest Syrah vineyard, in Stellenbosch Region, to the ocean (a Maritime influenced terroir). Their roots thrive deep in loose well-drained decomposed granite soils with poor fertility, making flavour and site expressed grapes. Planted by Koos Bredell in 1996.”
